The Manufacturing Institute has partnered with Recruit Military, an organization that is presenting a high-impact Veteran Opportunity Expo on Thursday, September 1, 2011. This hiring event, aimed at a wide array of military service personnel, is free to the following participating service personnel:
- Veterans who already have a variety of work experience;
- Men and women who are transitioning from active duty;
- Members of the National Guard and reserves; and
- Military spouses.
If you have skilled worker hiring needs in the Baltimore, MD area, please think about reserving a booth at this event.
Veteran Opportunity Expos provide a unique opportunity to interact with veterans who are actively seeking employment. RecruitMilitary has produced over 300 recruiting events since 2006, including 60 scheduled for 2011.
RecruitMilitary draws job seekers from its own database of nearly 500,000 self-registered candidates who have a military background, and also conducts advertising and public relations campaigns to attract additional job seekers. In addition to their collaboration with the manufacturing industry, Opportunity Expos are produced in cooperation with the Military Spouse Corporate Center Network (MSCCN) and The American Legion. All of RecruitMilitary's owners, officers, account executives, and recruiters are either veterans, or active or former reservists.
Hiring military veterans is very good business. Transitioning and veteran personnel have attributes which make them outstanding employees for the manufacturing industry. These include leadership, initiative, self-discipline, and an excellent work ethic. The overwhelming majority of active-duty personnel work in military employment categories that have very similar civilian counterparts. They range from engineering, science, and technical fields, to machine operator and precision work, transportation and materials handling, and executive, administrative, and managerial competencies.
The media's response to these events has been tremendous, generating television coverage by the "NBC Nightly News," CNBC, ABC, NBC, and CNN, as well as local stations; radio coverage by ESPN and numerous regional stations; and, articles in newspapers and magazines.
There is still time to reserve a booth at the event, but you will need to act soon. Contact Larry Slagel, Senior Vice President, RecruitMilitary Opportunity Expos, at 513-683-5020 or recruitvets@recruitmilitary.com. Please mention that you are an NAM member in order to obtain a member discount.
