    Retirement Plan Regulation 408 (b) (2)

Understanding and Benefitting from DOL’s New Rule

    Presented by Tom Spottiswood

Effective January 1, 2012, the rules governing every 401k and private pension plans in the United States change, and now employers will need to be ready for one of DOL’s newest retirement regulations. The regulation 408(b)(2) was designed to protect participants from having their retirement savings misused, and to further provide transparency to plan participants. While this rule provides much needed clarity around the fees being charged by their plan provider, adherence to the regulation from an employer’s perspective will be burdensome.

This seminar will explore and arm you with the knowledge you need to understand and prepare for the new regulations you must adhere to as plan sponsor. In addition, we will discuss:

    • What it means to be a fiduciary
    • What the 408 (b)(2) regulation is all about
    • Why and how you need to comply with the new rule

Guest Speaker - Jason Faust from Anne Arundel Workforce Development  Corps.
