Our MD SHRM State Council is partnering with other SHRM state councils in New England and Mid-Atlantic states to offer low-cost, high-quality Webinars for HR professionals. They are preapproved for HRCI recertification credits and typically 1 hour in length from 9 – 10 a.m. with 9-11 webinars presented in a calendar year – devoted to workplace law presentations.  Our next one is AUGUST 29th from 9 -10 a.m.

FLSA: Would Your Company Survive an Audit?

The US Dept. of Labor (DOL), which is responsible for enforcing the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) estimates that approximately 70% of employers are not in compliance with the FLSA. Common pitfalls include worker misclassification and failure to pay employees for all time worked. FLSA compliance audits can arise as a result of a complaint filed by an employee or by the DOL on its own initiative. Join us on Thursday, August 29, from 9 – 10 am, as attorneys from Jackson Lewis discuss: what to expect from a DOL audit, common mistakes which may expose an employer to an audit, and best practices to ensure FLSA compliance so as to avoid an audit.
