We're excited to welcome guest speaker June Melvin Mickens, the firm’s President & CEO of Executive Advantage, LLC . She will talk to us about - How Integral Is HR in the Eyes of Your Organization? The Answer May Rest with You.

We will also be presenting the 2014 When Work Works award to 5 Montgomery County businesses. Please join us starting at 5:30pm for dinner and registration. We will present the awards at 6:15pm following our SHRM Certification Q&A session. June will begin her presentation at 7:00pm.

    About the Program:

People in the workforce view the Human Resources function and HR professionals in different ways. Paper-pushers… caregivers… transactional point people… trouble-shooters… performance management police… strategic thought partners. Views run the gamut.

However, did you know that, for many, those impressions are shaped largely by you? You have the ability to influence how integral HR is seen throughout your organization, and especially by its leaders.

This interactive workshop will challenge participants:

    • To assess the current HR role within their organizations

    • To understand why solely relying on an “HR perspective” can limit influence

    • To grasp the impact of “a seat at the table” or, at least, greater HR
