Join us for CHRA’s “State of the Union” address from 5:30 – 6pm, where your President and Treasurer bring you the latest happenings over the last year, including a financial update for the association. There will also be a brief Q&A session for any members who may have questions for the CHRA leadership.

This presentation will be an interactive discussion on the inter-departmental dynamics between IT and HR, of current information security risks and its impact on both HR & IT and the profile of today’s technology worker. While both are a part of a “corporate services” group, many IT/HR relationships suffer from dysfunction due to a lack of understanding of technology issues, trends and information; poor process and procedures as well as communication challenges.

A significant part of Information security and the protection of a firm’s assets lie within HR. From recruitment, code of conduct, on-boarding and off-boarding to new HR systems, it is imperative for HR to understand their role in this ever-evolving dimension of corporate computing. Does HR understand its role in protection as well as the consumption of corporate assets and intellectual property?

How successful is HR in recruiting today’s technology worker? Do they understand the multiple generations and how technology supports and challenges each generation on the road to high employee satisfaction in the workplace? Understanding technology’s role and capabilities in today’s workplace is imperative to high employee retention and desirable work environment.
