    Presented by Michele Fantt Harris, SPHR

    Michele Fantt Harris is the Managing Director, Human Resources for the National Cooperative Bank in Washington, DC.  Previously she was employed as a Vice President, Regional Human Resources Manager for Marsh Inc.  From 1990 through 1999, she was employed as the Assistant Vice President/Director of Human Resources for the Association of American Medical Colleges in Washington, DC.  From 1984 to 1990, she was employed as the Director of Human Resources for Youth for Understanding, an international student exchange program for high school students.  She has held other human resources generalist positions in banking and the health care arenas.

    Active in many human resources organizations, she is the past president of the Human Resources Association of the National Capital Area and the former Black Human Resources Network.  A member of the Society for Human Resource Management since 1985, she served on the SHRM national board from 1996 through 2001 and is a Past Chair of the SHRM Foundation Board of Directors.  A graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law, Michele has taught human resources management, business law, and leadership courses at many local colleges.

    Recently, Michele completed the Results Systems Coaching program and is now a Associate Certified Coach (ACC) through the International Coach Federation.  Currently, Michele serves as the chair of the Personnel Committee for the Delta Foundation.

    She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland, a Master of Administrative Science degree from Johns Hopkins University, and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Baltimore School of Law.  A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Michele and her husband currently reside in the District of Columbia.
