    Medical Marijuana Issues for Maryland Employers

    Medical Marijuana – Workplace Issues for Maryland” will explore the impact of the legalization of medical marijuana on Maryland employers.  The program will discuss the status of marijuana legalization efforts in Maryland, as well as the issues which may arise in the workplace as a result of legalization, including the implementation and enforcement of a drug free workplace policy.

    Speaker Bio

    Ronald TaylorRon Taylor is a partner with Venable LLP in its Labor and Employment Practice Group and is the head of the firm’s Occupational Safety and Health Law Practice. He has over thirty years of experience representing management in all aspects of labor relations and employment law, with a particular emphasis in occupational safety and health, including workplace violence issues. Mr. Taylor has written on workplace and safety issues and has made numerous presentations in these areas across the United States.

    Mr. Taylor is an active member of the American Bar Association’s Occupational Safety and Health Law Committee and was the management chair of that committee from 1998 to 2001. Mr. Taylor is a past adjunct professor at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health, where he taught a graduate level course in occupational safety and health, and is a member of the OSHA faculty for the Institute of Applied Management and Law.

    Mr. Taylor has been consistently identified by Chambers & Partners as one of the leading lawyers in the United States, which has described him as one of the most recognized lawyers in the area and noted for his experience in occupational safety and health law. Ron has also been repeatedly selected as one of the best lawyers in Maryland by Woodward and White and as a Maryland Superlawyer in the area of labor and employment law, which has identified him as one of the top 100 lawyers in Maryland. He is a fellow of the prestigious College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.
