Program Description
This a 60 minute interactive presentation on the impact stigma has on people seeking behavioral health services and how we can help destigmatize those in need of behavioral health services.
Learning Objectives
In this program, HR Professionals will learn:
- Facts pertaining to both the span and the number of people affected by behavioral health issues
- The economic impact of behavioral health issues on the economy as well as the social and economic impact when people do not seek treatment
- The impact of behavioral health issues on business from managerial and human resources managerial vantage points
- The definition of stigma
- Specific strategies that we can use to reduce and prevent stigmatizing people experiencing behavioral health issues
Speaker Bio
Peter Brehm serves as a member of the Local Health Improvement Action Plan Behavioral Health Workgroup. He is also active with The Frederick center, including the Frederick HIV/AIDs Coalition, and the Frederick County Child Fatality Review Task Force, School Health Council, and Frederick Memorial Hospital Advanced Planning Committee, and Kiwanis Club of Suburban Frederick.
