FREE webcast on workplace violence prevention

    January 3, 2013

This past January 12, the SHRM CT State Council held a Webinar entitled “Workplace Violence: Prevention and Intervention.” Here is the program description:

On October 5, 2011, the same day a disgruntled employee opened fire on co-workers at a California limestone quarry, ASIS International and SHRM issued a joint Workplace Violence and Intervention American National Standard. The new standard, which reflects a consensus from professionals in the fields of security, human resources, mental health, law enforcement and legal, is aimed at helping organizations implement policies and practices to more quickly identify threatening behavior and violence affecting the workplace and to engage in effective incident management and resolution. This Webinar features Michael Wanik, vice president of Consulting & Investigation for SSC, Inc., a security risk management consultancy, who will review the standard and broadly cover the entire spectrum of issue management, from prevention and intervention through crisis management and law enforcement's role.

The replay is available from now until the end of January. Simply click on the following link to listen to the session:
